The Venetian harbor was constructed in 1320-1356 by the Venetians.
The port was the commercial center of our city and control of the seas from piracy. These buildings are the most characterized from the combination of Venetian and Turkish architecture, served as warehouses, offices and ticket counters, carpenters, blacksmiths, etc.
The specific building, was built in the period 1890-1895 by the Turkish occupation and was founded on the basis of the Venetian wall, which is distinguished even if you look over our building. By 1970 the site operated as a cooperage. Later it became a tavern by various names such as “Barrels” and “Anemos”.
Today, and since 2004 the building is a family business named “MICHALIS”.
